This role offers the chance to establish an IT Asset Management function for cutting-edge classified digital technology services, supporting national defense technology programs. We seek a driven individual with classified and defense industrial base experience to establish and manage our IT asset lifecycle program. This role involves ensuring efficient and cost-effective accounting, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and disposal of IT assets. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about building this function and adept at navigating the unique challenges of maintaining information security in a classified setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and network equipment.
  • Conduct regular audits and physical inventories to ensure asset accuracy.
  • Manage and update the IT asset management database.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure IT assets are properly received and checked into asset management tracking processes and tools.
  • Coordinate the deployment of assets with service delivery teams.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of IT assets, including updates, repairs, and replacements.
  • Work with IT support teams to resolve issues related to IT assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and standards related to IT asset management, including tracking of end-of-support timelines with suppliers.
  • Develop and enforce asset lifecycle and disposition policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Monitor and manage the costs associated with IT assets including refresh planning in the organization's long term budget plan.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities related to asset management.
  • Generate reports on asset status, inventory levels, and compliance metrics.
  • Provide management with insights and recommendations based on asset data.
  • Partner with supplier management leaders and suppliers continually add value to the organizations assets through partnerships with our supplier base.
  • Support contract and service agreement negotiation related to IT assets.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 5 years experience.
  • 5+ years in IT asset management or a similar role.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • A secret clearance must be granted or maintained. If you begin employment without a clearance you must obtain a final clearance within 18 months of start date; failure to be granted any required clearances/accesses within this timeframe will result in termination of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in IT Asset Management or IT Service Management (CITAM, CSAM, CHAMP, SNOW or ITIL).
  • Experience supporting Classified programs for DoD or Defense Industrial Base programs.
  • Experience with cloud-based asset management solutions. (e.g. FinOps)
