About the position

The Claims Supervisor at Avis Budget Group is responsible for overseeing external third-party adjusters managing workers' compensation and auto property damage claims across the US and Canada. This role involves ensuring compliance with company standards, providing guidance and training to third-party administrators, and managing a nationwide Workers' Compensation program. The supervisor will also analyze claims trends and communicate with management regarding claims that may exceed retention levels.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise external third-party adjusters handling workers' compensation and auto property damage claims.
  • Manage a nationwide Workers' Compensation program and third-party property damage claims.
  • Provide authority within retention level and oversee handling of claims by external adjusters.
  • Coordinate quarterly regional work comp claim reviews.
  • Provide guidance and training to third-party administrators as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation of company standards with new vendors to ensure compliance with reporting and billing guidelines.
  • Ensure daily management of claims governance inbox is completed.
  • Audit pending and closed casualty claims to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Review casualty claims and communicate to management on claims that may exceed retention levels.
  • Analyze and evaluate state laws and regulations as they apply to the organization's casualty claims processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in claims handling or a related function.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and terms.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
