Requirements
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- At least 5 to 10 years of team management experience
- Strong knowledge of personal and commercial lines and Property loss or liability insurance
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and Power BI report navigation is an asset.
- Cares about people
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout their employment and are solely responsible for maintaining their work eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical experts in the field of construction, estimate writing, and property loss emergency response, as well as teams that support the claims handling operation.
- Analyze data and results to assess process efficiency.
- Work closely with colleagues in supply chain management to maintain a feedback loop that keeps our teams and vendors mutually well informed.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the team to achieve profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Problem-solve and innovate to drive continuous improvement of operational processes.
- Participate in certain national committees.
- Participate in the development and implementation of your business plan and implement the necessary structures to achieve the department's objectives.
- Participate in the preparation of operating budgets.
- Manage the performance of your team and support the Unit Managers in the implementation of development plans and recovery plans.
- Be involved in the management of complaints that cannot be resolved by the Unit Managers.
- Identify training needs and coordinate follow-through.
- Actively participate in the claims department's response to weather disasters.
