About The Position

Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Interacts professionally and promptly with clients via email, phone, and in-person, maintaining a proactive approach focused on claim strategies and resolutions. Advocates for the timely and effective resolution of workers’ compensation claims for clients, communicating pertinent claim information to internal and external stakeholders. Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients, carriers, TPAs, legal resources, and consultants. Possesses deep subject matter expertise in workers’ compensation across multiple jurisdictions. Participates in presentations such as new business, RFPs, claim reviews, and renewals. Develops a strong working knowledge of IMA computer systems and assists the Claim Manager with onboarding, training, and development of claim staff. Leads and contributes to claim projects and other assigned tasks. Attends insurance-related seminars, including continuing education classes.

Requirements

  • 7 + years of prior Claims experience required, preferable within Workers’ Comp.
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree.
  • System skills or aptitude – Applied Epic, Carrier and TPA platforms preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling.
  • Moderate travel required (25-50%).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills required.
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers.
