About the position

The Claims Business Process Consultant at WellMed, part of the Optum family, plays a crucial role in optimizing claims system processes and business rules. This position involves analyzing claims-related data, ensuring data integrity, and providing solutions to complex problems while working in a collaborative environment that emphasizes diversity and inclusion. The consultant will contribute to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes through effective claims management and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Claims related and business system analysis
• Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
• Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
• Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
• Translates concepts into practice
• Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
• Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others
• Acts as a resource for others with less experience

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
• 4+ years of experience analyzing and solving customer problems in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
• 2+ years of experience in claims
• Moderate Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
• Ability to multi-task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
• Ability to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST
