About the position

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we'd love for you to be a part of it as our Claims Analyst. The Claims Analyst plays a vital role in any Home Warranty Claims Department. You will be processing and approving claims that are filed by the homeowner. You will be making sure the policy terms are followed and understood to ensure the claim meets coverage limits. The best candidate will have the ability to diagnose mechanical failures on appliances and systems. Claim approval amounts are processed based on the Model number of the existing units or using research online for comparable parts/labor costs. Outbound calling to homeowners and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process homeowner claims while interpreting coverage based on specific policy terms.
  • Review contractor invoices and estimates, determining claim approval amounts based on model numbers or research for comparable parts/labor rates.
  • Communicate with homeowners and contractors to gather documentation or deliver claim determinations.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure efficient claim volume management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge or the ability to quickly learn how home systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances) function.
  • Accurately read and interpret policy documents and apply coverage terms consistently across claim scenarios.
  • Uphold accuracy in documentation and claim processing while meeting departmental timelines and service standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
  • Prior experience in a claims department (warranty, insurance, medical) strongly preferred.
  • 3+ months of inbound claims processing experience preferred.
  • Customer service or call center background is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with technical/mechanical terminology and research.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of attendance and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
