About the position
The Travelers Claim Intern program offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the insurance industry, focusing on claims management. Interns will receive hands-on training, learn about personal and business insurance claims, and develop skills in investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims. This internship is designed for those serious about pursuing a career in insurance, providing exposure to various aspects of the claims process.
Responsibilities
- On-board with Travelers systems and protocols.
- Gain exposure to personal and business insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
- Learn effective strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims thoroughly and efficiently.
- Develop knowledge of estimating damage and determining applicable coverages.
- Assist customers through the claims process.
- Observe the work of Claim Professionals through desk and ride-alongs with experienced employees.
- Work with a designated coach on core assignments.
- Complete challenging and meaningful project work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
- Approximate work availability from June through August (10-12 weeks).
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.

- Business Administration major.
- Liberal Arts major (with business focus preferred).
- Business Management major.
- Risk Management and Insurance major.
- Undergraduate students completing their freshman year preferred.
