About the position
The Intern / Co-Op position in Civil / Environmental Engineering at Geosyntec offers students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world engineering scenarios while gaining essential business skills for a successful consulting career. This full-time role is designed for approximately 13 to 15 weeks during the summer, spring, or fall semesters of 2025, and is ideal for candidates who may wish to return for additional internships during their studies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools.
- Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
- Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD designers, and contractors and construction personnel.
- Potential for fieldwork such as soil sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor monitoring.
- Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.
Requirements
- Currently registered in a Bachelor's or Master's university degree program in a civil engineering or related discipline.
- Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid U.S. driver's license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites.
Nice-to-haves
- Degree focus area in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and slope stability software.
