Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Highway/Roadway) to join our Transportation team in Austin, TX in Summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world transportation engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of highway/roadway design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software. Project opportunities may include supporting the design of interstate highways, freeway interchanges, and major arterial roads. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into transportation engineering.

  • Assist in basic highway/roadway geometric design calculations
  • Help prepare technical reports and design documentation
  • Utilizing CADD to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Familiarize with local, state, and federal design standards and requirements
  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to transportation infrastructure projects
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with CAD software, such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • A previous internship related to your field of study
