About the position

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join their team in Dallas, TX. The role involves collaborating with engineers, project managers, and technical staff to produce plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal transportation and utility infrastructure projects. The position emphasizes leadership in project delivery and client experience, along with opportunities for mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design of municipal infrastructure projects, including water transmission mains and sanitary sewers.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Actively lead and participate in project delivery to enhance client experience.
  • Serve as project manager and/or technical subject matter expert on projects of limited complexity and size, while managing multiple projects of moderate size or portions of larger projects.
  • Assist with marketing, business development, proposal preparation, interviews, and presentations.
  • Monitor performance indicators, budgets, schedules, and manage project risks.
  • Train, coach, and mentor junior design staff in project development and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas required or ability to register through reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of experience related to municipal transportation, water/wastewater, and stormwater projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.
  • Proven client management and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
