About the position

The Childcare Van Driver position at Littl e Scholars Academy involves transporting school-age children safely while providing quality care and educational support. This full-time role requires a split shift schedule, working both mornings and evenings, and includes responsibilities such as planning and implementing curriculum, ensuring children's safety, and maintaining communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Planning, teaching, and implementing the curriculum for school-age children
• Providing love and quality care for the children throughout the day
• Planning and executing indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate to the developmental levels of the children
• Interacting with children both physically and verbally throughout the day
• Assisting children with their personal hygiene and clean up of the classroom
• Serving and eating meals with the children
• Meeting with parents, staff, and administration
• Attending in-service and staff development training programs
• Driving the van as needed
• Establishing routes, schedules, and procedures with the school director to maximize safety of children
• Completing daily and weekly inspections of the van and reporting maintenance issues
• Ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements and CNI Policies and Procedures
• Maintaining a professional relationship with all personnel and business-related associates

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record
• Ability to resolve conflicts between children
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must be 21 and over

Nice-to-haves

• First Aid and CPR certified or willing to become certified
