About the position
The Nurturing Nook is a licensed childcare center seeking a Cook/Dietary Aide. This role is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and energetic candidate who is passionate about early childhood education. The position involves preparing nutritious meals and maintaining a clean kitchen environment while supporting the childcare staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious well-balanced meals that meet food program requirements for items served.
- Oversee the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and sanitary kitchen.
- Manage monthly inventory on non-food items and food items needed for the food service order.
- Request items within budget for additional equipment needed to maintain the kitchen and mealtimes.
- Assist in the classrooms as needed by relieving teachers for breaks and being an additional support resource.
- Fulfill physical requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Serve Safe certificate
- Ability to pass all background checks
