About The Position

We are seeking a Childcare Cook to join our New Horizon Academy team at our beautiful new Millard school! This role is eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus. The tentative start date is 6/29/2026. The wage range is $16.30/hr to $18.55/hr. New Horizon Academy has been a leader in early care and education for over fifty years, fostering a culture of continuous improvement based on what's best for children and staff. We are passionate advocates for additional childhood resources and offer opportunities for growth and development through scholarships and tuition reimbursement. The work is essential as the first five years are crucial for social and emotional brain development.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work full-time, Monday-Friday, from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.
  • Must have a positive work ethic and a team-centered attitude.
  • Must be comfortable working with food allergies/restrictions.
  • Must enjoy working in a child-centered environment.
  • Must be willing to learn.
  • Must meet or exceed state qualifications for the listed position.
  • Must meet position qualification requirements as outlined by the state department guidelines.
  • Must be able to satisfy the Applicant Background Study required by state regulations.
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must have the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff, as well as to understand state licensing regulations and company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Early Childhood Education or related field of work.
