About The Position

Goodhue County Health & Human Services is seeking qualified applicants for a Child Support Enforcement Officer. This role ensures that children in non-intact families receive court-ordered financial and medical support from their non-custodial parent(s). The officer will be part of a team of skilled, caring, and knowledgeable HHS professionals dedicated to promoting, strengthening, and protecting the health of individuals, families, and communities in Goodhue County.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of interviewing techniques and methods for obtaining and communicating information.
  • High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of increasingly responsible clerical experience or experience working with the public.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses public assistance and non-public assistance child support applications for appropriate agency actions, such as enforcement of a court order for support or establishment of support and/or paternity.
  • Ability to establish and maintain thorough case files in compliance with state and federal laws, both for on-going case work and for audit process.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
