About the position
As a Child Protective Investigator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the welfare of children and families within the community. This position involves investigating claims of child abuse and neglect, assessing situations, and determining necessary interventions. You will utilize your skills in child welfare and social work to navigate sensitive family dynamics and recommend services to reduce the risk of further abuse or neglect.
Responsibilities
- Investigate claims of child abuse and neglect.
- Interview and gather information to assess if abuse or neglect occurred.
- Evaluate risk and safety issues for children and families.
- Recommend services for intervention to reduce future risks.
- Work on reports of abuse and neglect 24/7, including on-call duties.
- Collaborate with other professionals in child welfare and social work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in child welfare or social work.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and conflict management.
- Knowledge of behavioral health and family law.
