About the position
The Child Nutrition Worker I (Itinerant) position at Ocean View School District involves assisting in the preparation and serving of food in school cafeterias. This role is essential for maintaining food service operations and ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for food preparation and serving. The position is open exclusively to current employees of the school district.
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparing sandwiches, salads, fruits and vegetables, pastries, breads, desserts, and main dishes.
- Serves food to students and staff.
- Assists in checking recipes and preparing estimates and requisitions of needed foods and supplies.
- Cleans food preparation tables, counters, utensils, dishes, trays, and kitchen equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Operates standard kitchen utensils and appliances such as stoves, mixers, slicers, and can openers.
- May supervise student helpers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation methods and quantity food production.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to food preparation and serving.
- Skill in food serving procedures and use of kitchen utensils and equipment.

- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
