About the position

The Child & Family Therapist position at Compass Health involves providing comprehensive behavioral health services to children and their families within the Children's Intensive Services (WISe) program in Bellingham, WA. The role focuses on supporting youth with complex behavioral health needs in a community-based environment, utilizing the Wraparound process to foster family involvement and self-sufficiency. The therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering individualized and evidence-based clinical services, and participating in after-hours crisis response as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, creative, and strength-based therapeutic services to children and families.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team to support youth and caregivers.
• Conduct assessments and deliver treatment in the youth and family's natural settings.
• Participate in after-hours crisis/emergency response, including initial crisis assessment and safety risk evaluation.
• Utilize evidence-based practice models in clinical service delivery.

Requirements

• MA/MS/MSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field required.
• Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC.
• Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check.
• Experience in medical, mental health, or social services field preferred.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• Meets educational and training requirements for designation as a Child Mental Health Specialist preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
