About the position

The Child Care Assistant Director will assist the Center Director in overseeing the daily operations of the school, ensuring compliance with state childcare regulations, and maintaining a positive environment for students, parents, and staff. This role involves planning, developing, and organizing programs while providing supervision and support to staff, as well as maintaining records and documentation in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Center Director with daily operations of the school.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and maintain school programs for students, parents, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state childcare regulations and maintain current knowledge of local and federal regulations.
  • Assist with record keeping in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Supervise staff performance and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation and lesson planning for children.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families and state licensing personnel.
  • Maintain budget responsibilities and promote a positive environment.
  • Manage employee schedules and payroll oversight.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring staff.
  • Oversee child and family accounting and maintain records.
  • Assist in scheduling special events and activities.
  • Maintain the center's website and social media platforms as needed.
  • Plan summer programs and activities.
  • Manage staff training and professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development and five years of direct experience working with children aged birth to five years, or a Bachelor's degree in ECE/Child Development and three years of direct experience.
  • Meet state requirements for the position of Center Director.
  • Complete 40-hour Director Training for Georgia.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Clearance as required by the state.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and respond to emergencies.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education as required by the childcare regulatory agency.
  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid Training.
