About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team at St. Mark's Preschool/KIDZONE Inc. This part-time, contract position focuses on providing safe and reliable transportation services for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit, including assisting with boarding and disembarking.
- Manage behavior among children to maintain a respectful and safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and their families regarding schedules, routes, and any changes.
- Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition; report any mechanical issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Minimum 25 years old
- Valid Driver's license
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar driving role is preferred.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is beneficial for maintaining order on the bus.
