About The Position

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) provides clinical leadership and oversight for ABA services and clinical operations at the organization. The CCO is responsible for supporting high-quality clinical services, ethical and evidence-based care, staff development, clinical consistency, and effective clinical operations across the organization. Working collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Administration, and the clinical team, the CCO supports staff mentorship, clinical effectiveness, operational accountability, and positive outcomes for individuals and families served by the organization. The CCO provides oversight related to clinical standards, treatment integrity, staff supervision, professional development, documentation expectations, and clinical program effectiveness while fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical culture.

Requirements

  • Current BCBA certification in good standing required
  • Current North Carolina LBA license or ability to obtain and maintain licensure required
  • Master�s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive supervisory and clinical leadership experience within ABA settings required
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and clinical staff required
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, ethical standards, clinical documentation requirements, and evidence-based treatment practices required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of payer requirements, authorization processes, and insurance-funded ABA services preferred
  • ACE Provider preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical leadership and oversight for ABA services across organization
  • Promotes clinical consistency, treatment integrity, and adherence to professional and organizational standards of care
  • Oversee clinical service delivery, treatment planning processes, and clinical documentation expectations
  • Assists with complex case review, clinical problem-solving, and clinical decision-making as needed
  • Monitors clinical effectiveness, staff performance, and service quality across programs
  • Maintains an active and visible presence within the clinical environment to promote effective service delivery and staff support
  • Utilizes clinical data, operational metrics, and performance indicators to support accountability and informed decision-making
  • Ensure clinical operational sustainability through effective leadership, resource stewardship, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Provides supervision, mentorship, coaching, and professional support to BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and clinical support staff
  • Supports onboarding, training, professional development, and clinical education across the clinical team
  • Promotes accountability, professionalism, clinical growth, and adherence to organizational expectations and ethical standards
  • Assists with performance feedback, clinical competency development, and corrective action processes as appropriate
  • Identifies staffing needs, clinical leadership development opportunities, and workforce support strategies
  • Encourages communication and consistency across clinical and administration teams
  • Promotes staff retention and engagement through visible leadership, accessibility, mentorship, and ongoing professional support
  • Oversee ACE provider activities and continuing education opportunities for clinical staff as appropriate
  • Oversee clinical operations and service delivery to promote effective, ethical, and high-quality ABA services across the organization
  • Partners with Administration and clinical staff to facilitate timely intake, service authorization, and continuity of care processes
  • Oversee clinical documentation standards and promote compliance with payer, regulatory, and organizational requirements
  • Ensures timely completion and review of treatment plans, clinical documentation, supervision requirements, and related clinical processes
  • Monitors operational and clinical trends, service utilization, staffing needs, and program effectiveness to support informed decision-making
  • Oversee the development and utilization of clinical and operational metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators to monitor service effectiveness and organizational performance
  • Promotes compliance with all applicable ethical, clinical, payer, accreditation, and regulatory standards related to ABA service delivery
  • Oversee clinical documentation expectations to promote accuracy, timeliness, quality, and compliance with organizational and payer requirements
  • Maintains audit readiness and ongoing compliance efforts through clinical oversight, documentation review, staff support, and process improvement initiatives
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing review of clinical policies, procedures, and documentation practices
  • Identifies clinical compliance risks, documentation concerns, and operational issues
  • Promotes ethical clinical practices and accountability across all levels of clinical service delivery
  • Ensures adherence to BACB ethical standards, state licensure requirements, payer expectations, and organizational policies and procedures
  • Collaborates closely with the CEO, Administration, and clinical team to support organizational priorities, operational effectiveness, and high-quality service delivery
  • Participates in organizational planning, decision-making, and strategic initiatives related to clinical services and operations
  • Promotes effective communication and partnership across clinical and administration teams
  • Supports organizational change management, process improvement initiatives, and operational alignment efforts
  • Represents the organization in a professional manner when interacting with staff, families, providers, payers, community partners, and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Assists in fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Maintains required credentials, licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements
  • Participates in organizational initiatives, leadership activities, trainings, and special projects as appropriate
  • Performs additional leadership responsibilities as appropriate to support the organization�s mission, clinical operations, and organizational needs
