About The Position

We are seeking a safety conscious professional like you to join our Analytics and Materials Characterization group in Beachwood, OH. The Analytics and Materials Characterization team is dedicated to analytical problem solving through a variety of characterization techniques, including microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, elemental analysis and physical testing. We specialize in the analysis of catalysts, energy materials and zeolites/molecular sieves. The laboratory is high volume and has a fast-paced environment, supporting the research of BASF scientists in North America and globally.

Requirements

A MS in Chemistry or equivalent or BS/BA in Chemistry or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis techniques for catalysts and battery materials.
Prior experience working in an ISO regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Operating a scanning electron microscope, evaluating energy dispersive X-ray spectrums, and preparing samples using diverse microscopy techniques.
Delivering direct analytical support to the BASF R&D organization.
Ensuring the timely preparation of various material types, including fresh and spent catalysts, battery materials, and zeolites.
Utilizing a SEM equipped with EDS system to develop and implement new sample preparation methods, troubleshoot processes, and work to achieve customer satisfaction.
Troubleshooting processes within the laboratory and/or plant settings.
Reporting analytical data to researchers via the LIMS system.
Providing assistance as needed in additional areas of analysis.
Maintaining rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of reported data by adhering to ISO and quality standards.
