About the position

The Chemical Production Associate at AMETEK, Inc. is responsible for following simple written procedures for shell and electrode plating under close supervision. The role involves handling chemicals, processing products through cleaning and rinsing tanks, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The associate will also be required to perform various tasks as assigned by the Department Supervisor, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow written procedures for shell and electrode plating.
• Handle incoming bulk chemicals in 55-gallon drums or similar containers.
• Process products through cleaning and rinsing tanks and the dryer.
• Perform pre-plate and post-plate clean-up tasks.
• Exercise care to avoid damage to shells or electrodes during daily functions.
• Make required chemical additions to process solutions as instructed.
• Dispose of and create new process solutions following written instructions.
• Maintain general housekeeping in the department.
• Be flexible with job scheduling to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills necessary.
• Ability to read gauges and instruments.
• Good eye/hand coordination required.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of bright dipping and electroplating (Au, Cu & Ni) is helpful but not necessary.
