The Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) organization harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions. As a function in the Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) division within Pfizer, Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) plays a critical role to enable Pfizer’s commercial brand strategy. The team acts as internal consultants and brand strategists, partnering with commercial and cross‑functional leaders to activate data‑driven problem solving in ways that are executable, impactful, and unlocks value. The IIS Manager is accountable for the delivery of high quality and impactful strategic business decision support to business leaders in Canada. This role leads performance measurement, informs investment decisions, and guides inline and launch strategies for priority brands/portfolios. The incumbent is accountable for the design and execution of analytics, insights plans and delivering actionable insights that result in direct business impact. This person must be a deep therapeutic area expert, capable business analyst, an agile project manager, and a proactive thought-partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree an asset, preferably in a quantitative discipline.
  • 3-4 years experience with a preference for business analytics/finance, sales/field force analytics, marketing, or other quantitative field.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry in Canada, including relevant data sources (such as IQVIA) to generate market insights.
  • Demonstrated experience across most GCA analytics capabilities including secondary data analyses, field-force optimization, KPI performance tracking, reporting/dashboard visualization and forecasting/modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic partner to commercial leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust and credibility across all levels of the organization and in collaboration with all relevant functions.
  • Innovative and agile mindset; self-starter, proactive collaborator.
  • Demonstrated analytics & insights expert with an aptitude for translating insights and analytics into actions and business decisions via storytelling.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, ideally in pharma industry or healthcare.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to multi-task managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Vendor management (e.g. market research suppliers, data vendors, consultants, agencies).
  • Fluency in English, and strong working-knowledge of French.
  • Bilingualism (French and English): An advanced level of English, both spoken and written, is required to enable the individual to collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners located elsewhere in Canada and internationally daily as part of their responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Dataiku/DSS and Tableau/PowerBI is highly desirable.
  • Experience/exposure in Primary Market research an asset.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and data science approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification of data and insight needs; design analytics and research plans; and execute those plans using the full catalog of GCA capabilities, including data acquisition, secondary data analysis, advanced analytics/data science, KPI tracking, and primary market research.
  • Guide the effective use of promotional resources through customer & field-force analytics, segmentation and targeting, promotional resource allocation & ROI, field‑force sizing, and omnichannel analysis.
  • Collaborate effectively on the delivery of advanced analytics, including AI‑driven predictive modeling, data science, and machine learning, as required.
  • Integrate research, data, and analytics into compelling, actionable insights that lead to clear recommendations for commercial leaders.
  • Support the adaptation of global/international standardization of performance metrics and tracking, leveraging vendor data, dashboards, and analytical queries.
  • Proactively assess portfolio performance by monitoring the external marketplace and competitive landscape, ensuring insights are driving commercial decision‑making.
  • Identify business partners’ information needs and develop analytics solutions and capabilities to address those needs, including the procurement and maintenance of third‑party and internal datasets.
  • Support the build and standardization of global/international commercial analytics capabilities ensuring the appropriate implementation/adoption within Canada.
  • Support data modeling and forecasting needs (including for LRF and operating plans) by informing resource allocation decisions, BU/franchise strategies and tactics, and validating LRF model assumptions.
  • Develop, commission and contract innovative and impactful market research through approved vendors, as required.
  • Create and manage budgets associated with assigned activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate SOPs and regulatory requirements related to primary market research.
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing internal IIS processes, identifying of new capabilities and/or data, leveraging AI tools to maximize Pfizer’s competitive advantage.
  • Contribute to the advancement of GCA capabilities, sharing best-practices, and enable the scaling of capabilities by sharing market and TA knowledge with other GCA teams to ensure fit-for-purpose analytics.
  • Lead the alignment with other GCA teams as well as other cross-functional partners to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders.
