About the position

The Grand Sierra is looking for energetic and customer service minded individuals to join the Food and Beverage team as a Dining Room Food Server for Charlie Palmer Steakhouse. The Food Server guarantees guests are served in a warm, accommodating and professional manner ensuring total guest satisfaction. Guarantee prompt, courteous and team minded service throughout the entire restaurant and adhere to all Grand Sierra Resort standards.

Responsibilities

  • Believe and demonstrate the GSR Vision and Mission Statement.
  • Take beverage orders from restaurant customers and input orders in to POS system.
  • Deliver orders following required standards for the position.
  • Prepare tableside items as requested by customer; anticipate guest's needs.
  • Complete all side work including but not limited to: wiping down stations, re-stocking supplies, etc.
  • Polish silver, buff glasses, set-up service cart, etc. in order to prepare tables and stations.
  • Breakdown stations, carts and tables at close of restaurant.
  • Explain menu to the guests and answer any questions they may have.
  • Always check on quality of food and service to ensure excellent guest service.

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience preferred.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to deal with customers and co-workers in a tactful and respectful manner.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete reports, correspondence and communicate with guests, Team Members and supervisors.
  • Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills are a must.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients.
  • Trusted and is seen as a truthful individual who is highly respectful of others.
  • Consistently exhibits courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and presents information in a concise and understandable format.
  • Cooperate with others in the accomplishment of joint tasks and common objectives.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment, fosters collaboration and provides a tangible contribution.
  • Meet requirements of regular attendance in order to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Sommelier certified would be a bonus.
