About the position
The Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for Gastroenterology at Lovelace Westside Hospital is responsible for overseeing nursing practices and managing patient care within the assigned area. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule and emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and respect in healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing in the assigned area.
- Manage efficient patient flow and appropriate use of supplies and operational functions.
- Collaborate with unit managers and/or directors to develop and revise unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Serve as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers, and staff.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Requirements
- Minimum: Associate's Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
- One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
- CPR certification.
- Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire).
Nice-to-haves
- Desired: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Certification in clinical specialty.
- National Certification in specialty care.
