About the position
The Hospice Chaplain at New England Hospice is responsible for providing spiritual and religious care services to patients, families, and caregivers. This role involves assessing spiritual needs, conducting memorial and bereavement services, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. The Chaplain will also facilitate community involvement in spiritual care and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assess and provide spiritual and religious care services to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Develop, conduct, and participate in memorial, funeral, and bereavement services.
- Serve as a liaison to promote healthy communities and facilitate the inclusion of community chaplains and faith leaders.
- Provide spiritual care assessments and emotional support interventions.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, including computerized documentation.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary group under the supervision of the Director of Social Services.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (Bachelor's of Divinity, Master's of Divinity, or equivalent).
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ordained, endorsed minister, priest, rabbi, or member of a religious order with training in pastoral care.
- A minimum of one (1) Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit preferred.
- Ability to provide inter-faith spiritual care with cultural and theological competence.
