About the position
The Chaplain position at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus involves providing spiritual care to patients, families, and caregivers, fostering spiritual resources for healing. This role is essential in meeting individuals where they are during challenging times, offering support and guidance. The Chaplain will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to enhance the patient experience and contribute to the overall healing process.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual care and counseling for patients, families, and caregivers of all faith groups, ages, and conditions.
- Educate and consult with physicians, nurses, and other caregivers regarding spiritual care.
- Foster spiritual resources for healing and support during troubled times.
- Provide crisis and ongoing care as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of at least four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- One year of ministry experience, or a bachelor's degree with three years of ministry experience and satisfactory completion of one or two units of Clinical Pastoral Education with the expectation to complete four CPEs within two years of hire.
- Certification as a board-certified Chaplain or eligibility for certification within two years, or certification as an ACPE Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Ability to work on-call and during regular work hours.
