About The Position

AECOM is seeking a CHAMP Traffic Monitoring Patroller Supervisor in Thomaston, Georgia. This role involves supervising a team of CHAMP Operators, ensuring adherence to safety compliance, policies, procedures, quality assurance, and customer service standards. The position includes performing routine route inspections, meeting with GDOT Officials and local authorities to discuss traffic incident management strategies, functioning as a lead Operator on vacant routes, and supervising/training lower-level staff. The role also requires organizing and conducting safety meetings, coordinating Traffic Incident Management Team meetings, and performing routine staff, vehicle, and equipment inspections. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring safety guidelines are followed, projects are completed on time and to company standards, and providing progress reports to senior management. This position has financial and project management responsibilities, including creating work plans, overseeing data collection, developing solutions to business/client problems with a focus on financial analysis and improvement, and potentially leading/mentoring a team.

Requirements

  • HS and 2 or more years prior experience as Traffic Monitoring Patroller or other relevant experience
  • Have satisfactory performance reviews and no letter of reprimand over a period of twelve (12) months
  • Be proficient in the use of the Department’s ATMS mobile application and pass an ATMS knowledge exam approved by the Department
  • Be proficient in the use of the Department’s CHAMP services SOP, SOG, and Manuals; and have completed the prerequisite training.
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security and motor vehicle background checks.
  • Employees must also participate in monthly MVR monitoring program and maintain a satisfactory driving record as a condition of employment.
  • Must participate in the program’s mandatory random drug screening process.
  • Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment.
  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, moisture, dust, dryness, noise, and automotive-related chemicals (e.g., fuels, coolants, lubricants, etc.); position requires frequent operation of vehicles.
  • Work around heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; often standing/walking.
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds.
  • Ability to pull/drag a force gauge to produce 160 ft./lbs of force with a contact point of 36 inches off the ground.
  • Ability to lift a 40-pound tool bag.
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and/or crouching and occasionally work with arms above shoulder level.
  • Ability to perform fine motor skills.
  • Ability to perform hand gripping/squeezing for hand tools and equipment (levers, jack handles, air compressor, jumper cables etc.).
  • Ability to occasionally work at heights less than 4ft.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to descend/ascend vehicle steps.
  • This position is contingent upon successfully completing functional tests for each essential function identified for this position.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of CHAMP Operators, ensuring that all state, federal, and company’s safety compliance, policy and procedures, quality assurance, customer services are being performed.
  • Perform routine route inspections to ensure performance measures are met and provide accountability and oversight of CHAMP operators and dispatchers.
  • Meet with GDOT Officials and local authorities to discuss strategies, and best practices for traffic incident management.
  • Function as a lead Operator on vacant routes and dispatch positions to ensure adequate coverage and supervising and training lower-level staff.
  • Organizes and conducts safety meetings.
  • Coordinate Traffic Incident Management Team meetings for region.
  • Perform routine staff, vehicle and equipment inspections per company requirements.
  • Ensure all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures are adhered too, to include personal protection equipment.
  • Ensures, directly and through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and to company standards.
  • Provides periodic progress reports to senior management.
  • Has financial and project management responsibilities for the project.
  • Responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions, oversees data collection and develops solutions to business/client problems with a focus on financial analysis and improvement.
  • May provide solutions to business/client challenges developed from a foundation of understanding or analysis of business practices and goals.
  • May lead/mentor team of consultants and/or other staff.
