About the position

The Caregiver (CG) position at ATC Healthcare NW involves providing essential support and personal care to patients in various healthcare settings, including rehabilitation centers and assisted living facilities. Caregivers will assist with daily activities, monitor health conditions, and ensure a safe environment for patients. This role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for those in care. Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help patients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and use of wheelchairs or other assistive devices.
  • Monitor and record patients' physical and mental conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and dietary monitoring.
  • Support patients in managing their medication schedules and remind them to take them as directed.
  • Record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
  • Assist in basic healthcare tasks as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Transport patients to medical appointments or treatments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care, activities, and health status.
  • Document any incidents or changes in the patient's condition.
  • Ensure all care activities are conducted safely and in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Follow infection control procedures and maintain hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Oregon Certification in caregiving or nursing assistance is mandatory.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Caregiver (CG).
  • Familiarity with basic medical terms and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and supporting patients.
  • Capacity to work long hours and manage stress effectively.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
