About the position

Stonecliff Animal Clinic is seeking a dedicated veterinary technician to join our team. This full-service general practice provides high-quality veterinary care and is committed to educating clients about their pets' health. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including patient care, diagnostic procedures, and effective communication with clients, all within a supportive and friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients
• Collection and analysis of lab samples
• Diagnostic imaging
• Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
• Administration of medications
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
• Surgical preparation and assistance
• Anesthetic management

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-year experience preferred
• CVT/RVT/LVT certification is a bonus
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
• Knowledge in preventative care and surgical procedures
• Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
• Proficient in sample collection including blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples
• Ability to set up and process laboratory samples and tests
• Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
• Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
• Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skills
• Ability to receive constructive feedback professionally
