About the position
USPI Medical Park Tower Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, and Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Responsibilities
- Scrub for surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing.
- Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment related to surgical procedures.
- Support the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years.
- Must be certified within 90 days of hire.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed.
- Excellent team player with the ability to communicate with staff, patients, and physicians.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center.
