Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the surgical center.
- Perform scrub duties and related procedures.
- Assist with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulatory assigned to the patient.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of supplies and equipment as required.
- Function in the advanced roles of preceptor, service specialist, and instrument room liaison.
Requirements
- High School or GED equivalent
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or evidence of meeting the requirements of the NJ Surgical Technology Certification law in effect as of 12/21/2011
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)
- Good knowledge and understanding of patient flow through L&D
- Instrument handling, cleaning, OR circulation for OB
Nice-to-haves
- 1-2 years as a scrub tech - OB surgical tech experience
- Sterile Processing Certification
