About the position

The position is responsible for assisting the Admissions RN in various duties to ensure smooth patient flow in all peri-anesthesia areas. The role involves performing tasks that include direct and indirect patient care, treatment, transportation, and various clerical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care procedures in compliance with Evergreen Surgical Center policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assists with the maintenance, admission, discharge, and/or transfer of patients.
• Communicates with families or escorts in the waiting room on the progress of patient's recovery.
• Prepares paperwork and provides other clerical support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Washington
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
• Must have oral and written language skills, visual and listening skills in order to communicate and ensure delivery of safe patient care
• Must have necessary knowledge and training to care for the specific age group under his or her care
• Must be able to perform tasks that include age specific growth and development needs
• Must have the ability to be self-directed within his/her scope of practice
• Must be able to lift, turn, transfer, and position patients and move/lift heavy equipment/supplies
• Current EKG Certification or training within 6 months of hire date
