About the position

Matrix Providers is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide full-time anesthesia services at the Naval Hospital Jacksonville. This role involves managing patient anesthesia experiences, performing preoperative evaluations, administering various types of anesthesia, and monitoring patient reactions during and after surgery. The position is designed to support military healthcare needs with a focus on dignity, compassion, and pride.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient anesthesia experience and perform preoperative evaluations and preparations.
  • Administer monitored anesthesia care, regional and general anesthesia.
  • Monitor and manage patient reactions to anesthesia and surgery.
  • Manage fluid therapy and perform invasive monitoring as needed.
  • Conduct post-operative evaluations as privileged by the Medical Treatment Facility Credentials Committee.
  • Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient, including obtaining informed consent.
  • Develop and implement an anesthetic plan of care.
  • Collect and interpret patient physiological data using noninvasive monitoring modalities.
  • Manage the patient's airway and pulmonary status during anesthesia.
  • Record all pertinent events during the anesthesia process, including dosages and durations of anesthetic agents.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Graduate from an academic program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).
  • Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Clinical competency within the last 2 years.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted U.S. state license to practice as a registered nurse anesthetist.
