About the position
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
- Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely manner.
- Assist with inventory management activities, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
