Certified Nursing Assistant, Geri Psych, 32 Hours, Evenings (BMC South)
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. This role is for the Geri Psych department on Seton 7 West, working 32 hours on evenings. The position requires providing care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly, accommodating various needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. The role also involves incorporating knowledge of patient rights, exceptional care, and the hospital's values and mission into daily performance, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must possess a minimum of one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or be a matriculating student in a nursing program and have completed the "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in accredited nursing school and completion of the courses "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II."
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients is required.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
- Must possess the skills to be compassionate, empathetic and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients.
- Computer experience is preferred.
