About the position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. This position involves assisting with various nursing functions, ensuring compliance with established policies, and contributing to a supportive environment for residents and their families. The CNA is integral to the success of the nursing team and the overall well-being of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily nursing functions in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of nursing personnel with written policies and procedures, including safety programs.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents with proper documentation.
  • Participate in the orientation of new residents and their family members.
  • Make rounds with healthcare providers.
  • Utilize nursing personnel qualifications according to resident care plans and healthcare provider orders.
  • Complete daily clinical and environmental rounds to evaluate resident care and report significant events.
  • Meet and resolve issues with residents and/or family members, reporting significant issues to the supervisor.
  • Participate in facility surveys as requested by management.
  • May be responsible for clinical programs such as dementia care, wound care, quality assurance, and infection control.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current and active license to practice as a CNA in this state.
  • 2+ years of experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Strong attendance, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding English.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.
