About the position

The Certified Nursing Assistant at Crista Shores is responsible for providing routine care in accordance with CRISTA's established policies and procedures. Provide the highest degree of quality patient care to all residents. Develop positive relationships with residents and help new residents transition through into their new home.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the identity of a resident before administering treatment or serving food.
  • Assist residents with dental and oral care.
  • Assist in preparing residents for meals and perform after meal care as required.
  • Serve extra nourishment and drinking water as required.
  • Dress residents neatly in their own clothing, assisting them as necessary.
  • Report all complaints and concerns to the nurse.
  • Immediately report any resident who is leaving the premises to the Nurse.
  • Report any resident abuse or suspected abuse to nurse immediately.
  • Watch for and report any changes in room temperature, ventilation, or lighting.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and positive emphasis.
  • Report all hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents to the nurse immediately.
  • Check, report, and document bowel movements and character of stools as directed.
  • Chart required information on nursing order flow sheets.
  • Receive assignments and check residents' schedule.
  • Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment is properly stored.
  • Report on and off duty as scheduled and in appropriate attire.
  • Keep floors dry and free of unnecessary equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with residents to develop a schedule of daily care based on preferences.
  • Determine approaches for residents to remain as independent as possible.
  • Incorporate residents' recreation preferences into daily care plans.
  • Review work procedures and operational problems to improve service and safety.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents and families.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, and residents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
  • High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
  • Successfully completed and passed the state and federal Licensing for a nursing assistant or home care aide.
  • WA state NAC license in good standing.
  • CPR card.
  • Read, write, communicate in and interpret English at a functional level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as a NAC in LTC or other related health care setting.
  • Food handlers permit.
