About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant (Triage) at Axia Women's Health is responsible for providing phone triage services to OB/GYN patients, ensuring high-quality care in accordance with evidence-based guidelines. This role involves managing urgent and non-urgent calls, coordinating patient appointments, and collaborating with healthcare providers to address medical concerns. The position is integral to delivering personalized care to women, contributing to their health and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Answering all urgent and non-urgent incoming OB calls
- Refilling prescriptions following physician protocols
- Reviewing any medical concerns and consulting with providers as necessary
- Understanding general OB and GYN education
- Reviewing general office functionality including hours of operation, after hours calls, and provider call rotation
- Assisting and scheduling upcoming ultrasounds and appointments
- Entering necessary lab orders
- Discussing risks associated with pregnancy
- Offering genetic testing
- Scheduling OB and GYN appointments
- Consulting with practice providers
- Directing calls to the proper area
- Documenting all conversations in patient chart
Requirements
- Experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- Degree from an accredited program
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical facility, preferably in an OB/GYN setting
- Knowledge of CPT coding
- Familiarity with lab specific order sets
- Experience with Greenway software
