Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program; curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration.
• Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire.
• Certification/registry accepted: CMA, CCMA, RMA, NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP, AAH.
• Alternative Work Experience: Employed as a supervised medical assistant for a minimum of one (1) year within the last three (3) years, or other specified experience.
• Experience must include both clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties.
• Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.
• Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
