About the position

This position involves providing athletic training services to student athletes at high schools in Northern Minnesota, specifically Pillager High School and Lakewood Hospital. The role is part of the Twin Cities Orthopedics Outreach Program and includes working in a clinic setting, which may be either a Physical Therapy setting or an Orthopedic Physician Clinic. This is a full-time role that will require some evenings and weekends, supporting the Staples location.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Licensed Athletic Trainer in a clinic setting and at High School
  • Responsible for the assessment, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of acute, chronic, and emergency injuries and illnesses
  • Refer student-athletes to physician and/or specialists as needed
  • Documentation of injury management
  • Effective communication with doctors, coaches, parents and athletes
  • Provide and assist in community education
  • Occasionally participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NATABOC certification
  • Licensed in the State of Minnesota as Athletic Trainer or eligible for licensure
  • Current CPR certification required
  • 1-2 years of experience as a high school Athletic Trainer preferred
