About the position

Plymouth Physical Therapy Solutions is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our Novi, MI, team. Over the last 30 years, we have cultivated a state-of-the-art physical therapy practice focusing on putting our patients' needs first. Our collaborative team is armed with diverse professional skills to help our patients with outpatient needs, spanning orthopedics, sports injuries, joint replacement, industrial rehabilitation, pediatrics, and geriatrics. As the Athletic Trainer, you will plan, coordinate, and supervise all components of the contract school's or professional team's athletic events and practices, coordinate access to healthcare for athletes at contract locations, and design/implement specific therapeutic programs for rehabilitating injured athletes. You will focus on injury prevention and evaluation, risk assessments and corrective action planning, first aid treatment, health education, health promotion, and marketing activities. You may also be responsible for administering POETS in the clinic setting and/or at a job-specific location.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice.
  • Re-evaluate treatment plans, as needed, to ensure maximum patient benefit.
  • Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and monitor responses to therapy to ensure client safety.
  • Report progress and medical changes to referring physician.
  • Educate clients, families, and coaches regarding injuries, risk factor modification, and exercise programs.
  • Conduct injury screening clinics, educational programs, and workshops to promote safety and injury prevention.
  • Document patient treatment per professional and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited university athletic training program.
  • NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in Michigan or license eligible.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPR/ First Aid instructor preferred but not required.
