About the position

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) at Family Circle of Care plays a crucial role in supporting patient care under the direction of healthcare providers. This full-time position involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting with examinations, collecting specimens, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The CCMA is responsible for ensuring a smooth patient flow, recording vital signs, and providing quality service to patients while adhering to safety and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations and organizes instruments and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments.
• Collects specimens under the direction of the physician, including performing phlebotomy.
• Administers specific medications and immunizations as directed by the physician.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Cleans, stocks, and maintains exam and procedure rooms.
• Follows procedures for obtaining physician approval on refills and documents changes in the electronic medical system.
• Assists the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider proactively as requested.
• Attends required meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CPI) program for risk management and quality improvement.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1-2 years' experience in a medical professional environment required.
• Valid Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• CPR Certification, renewed every two years.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Employment & labor law is a plus.
