About the position

The Central Region Senior Transit Project Manager at TranSystems is responsible for overseeing multi-disciplined teams in the planning and management of passenger rail and transit projects. This role requires extensive experience in project management, particularly with FTA/FRA funded projects, and involves coordinating the work of engineers and planners to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. The position also emphasizes business development and team leadership within a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Transit Market Sector Leader on project pursuit strategy, mining and development.
  • Serve as Project Manager with involvement in client development, project delivery, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for overall supervision and quality of assigned projects, ensuring conformity to contractual agreements.
  • Ensure projects are completed within the allocated time and budget.
  • Assist in achieving business development goals established for the firm.
  • Grow into a role to provide team leadership, planning, organizing, and supervising the work of staff.
  • Evaluate staff progress and recommend changes to achieve overall objectives.
  • Mentor other employees to participate in transit projects.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or planning field required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of management experience in the planning and design of transit/rail/bus/facility infrastructure.
  • Experience with transit projects from planning/concept design through project development.
  • Experience in the Alternative Delivery of Transit Projects.
  • Registration as a licensed PE required.

  • Experience in managing multi-disciplined teams.
  • Good verbal and writing skills for client interaction and federal agency oversight.
  • Ability to actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems.
