About the position
The Central Monitoring Technician in Inpatient Teleservices is responsible for maintaining the integrity of continuous monitoring for patients requiring video and cardiac rhythm surveillance. This role involves real-time monitoring of heart rhythms and interpreting dysrhythmias under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring patient safety and timely response to any changes in their condition.
Responsibilities
- Provide constant, real-time video monitoring of patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias as directed by a Registered Nurse.
- Maintain the integrity of continuous monitoring systems.
- Document and report any significant changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- National Telemetry Certification through the National Telemetry Association strongly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required within six months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Telemetry is preferred.
