About the position

The Cell Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing cell. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and the ability to motivate and manage a team to achieve production goals, quality standards, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all TWC's Safety rules and regulations.
  • Observe all TWC's Employee Guidelines.
  • Lead and manage a team of production workers within the cell, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Monitor and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure that APC's policies and procedures are being followed and completed.
  • Follow Leader Standard work outline for all daily activities.
  • Maintain Tier 1 meeting and board.
  • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices, identify opportunities for process improvements, and participate in Kaizen events.
  • Ensure shift to shift pass-down information is transferred effectively during cell shift change.
  • Provide guidance for their work cell in the absence of the production supervisor and/or manager.
  • Address and resolve production-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist the supervisor or manager with a variety of administrative, training, communication, and operations tasks for their work cell.
  • Perform plant shut down and start up as required.
  • Able to perform duties outside of established procedures with minimum supervision.
  • Complete and certify training of Level I, II and III operators.
  • Contact appropriate supervisor immediately upon any EHS near miss or incident.
  • Contact appropriate supervisor for issues related to employee performance.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years in manufacturing or related.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Mathematical skills.
