About the position

The CDL Truck Driver position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck on swing routes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe vehicle while providing excellent service to customers. Drivers will be home every night and weekend, with opportunities for career advancement and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on assigned swing routes.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Participate in scheduled training and meetings as required by the Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and address safety concerns.
  • Assist other company drivers as directed by the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, or property damage.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Ensure all containers are dumped and the customer's location is left clean.
  • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
  • Position containers properly on the customer's property to avoid blocking entrances or traffic.
  • Follow route assignments and complete all documentation at the end of the route.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 4 years of CDL truck driving experience or equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years required.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
