About The Position

S&W Ready Mix, a subsidiary of Titan America LLC, is seeking an experienced CDL Lowboy Operator/Plant Maintenance Technician for the Castle Hayne, NC area. This role involves repairing and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment in concrete plant facilities, including motors, pneumatic systems, plumbing, conveyor systems, and production machines. Additionally, the position requires safely loading and securing heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and lifts onto a lowboy trailer for transport. Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Previous dump truck and lowboy experience.
  • Able to safely drive a flat bed and/or other commercial vehicles as required within driver license guidelines and with the required driver’s license endorsements.
  • Previous experience doing preventative maintenance inspections and scheduling.
  • Previous welding and fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must not be limited to Intrastate travel/hauling only.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, DOT physical, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Report.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous heavy equipment operation experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair certification.
  • Ready-mix industry knowledge or related industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job.

  • Utilize strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Follow established traffic patterns, avoid hazards, and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment and in the plant.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports.
  • Check haul truck vehicle fluids and add fluids as necessary.
  • Grease the truck as required.
  • Load and unload heavy equipment onto the trailer.
  • Operate the truck and trailer to transport materials and heavy equipment to and from job sites.
  • Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb to heights of at least 50 feet frequently.
  • Work outdoors with exposure to extreme heat and cold and other outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Perform constant standing and walking, climbing, and working from heights; utilize fall protection equipment/measures, as well as, other required PPE.
  • Operate equipment, tools, and controls.
  • Perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, and feet.
  • Perform frequent reaching, climbing (up and down the truck several times a day), stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and lifting (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Communicate clearly and listen attentively.
  • Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime.
