About the position

The Cath Lab RN position is located in Morristown, NJ, and is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The work schedule includes shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, three days a week, with one night of call per week from 7:30 pm to 7:00 am, and one weekend shift on call per month.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate across all stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric.
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes.
• Demonstrate professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous, and positive manner to promote patient satisfaction.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol, ensuring safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients, individualizing care based on procedure and anesthesia type.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for directing patient care, prioritizing based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Assess patient's understanding of surgical procedures and actively involve them and their families in education.
• Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner and evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness.

Requirements

• 2 years critical care experience - required
• RN License - Required
• BLS - Required
• ACLS - Required

Nice-to-haves

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
