About the position

The Catering person assists in the preparation, tear down, and clean up of all food and service items needed for deliveries and catered events in a timely fashion. This role coordinates set-ups and deliveries, confirms order details and timing, and serves and suggestively sells drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts in an outgoing, friendly manner to ensure a positive experience for guests. The Catering person is responsible for ensuring catering and delivery orders are accurate and positively representing the Famous Dave's brand. Additional duties include answering the phone, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning work stations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, or running food. Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, tear down, and clean up of food and service items for deliveries and catered events.
• Coordinate set-ups and deliveries, confirming order details and timing.
• Serve and suggestively sell drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts to guests.
• Ensure catering and delivery orders are accurate.
• Represent the Famous Dave's brand positively.
• Perform side duties including answering the phone, bussing tables, washing dishes, cleaning work stations, rolling silverware, and expediting orders.
• Interact verbally with guests to create a friendly atmosphere and explain menu items.
• Practice teamwork by assisting other servers and team members as needed.
• Accurately use the P.O.S. system for clocking in/out and processing orders.
• Set up and tear down service-related items for events.
• Prepare catering vehicle with necessary food and service items for events.
• Drive catering vehicle to events when required.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous server or restaurant experience preferred.
• Reading, writing, basic math, and superior communication skills required.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local liquor laws.
• English language and professional communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Problem-solving abilities, self-motivated, and organized.
• Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under stress.
